Jamie Williams writes stories for children, and poetry. Her inspiration for writing for children is that they believe in magic. They never question that it happens, only why and Jamie loves that!
She wrote The Story of the Toothfairie twenty two years ago for her daughter while she was losing her baby teeth because she coundn't find much folklore about this wonderful character and so she created a story, giving the character a place to live and a partner to help her.
Jamie is named in two books by the National Library of Poetry. You can find her in "Traces" as one of the best poets of 2002 for The Invitation and "America the Millennium" as one of the best poets of the twentieth century for On Fighting. Out of 1.2 million poets only 1000 of them make it into this book!
Jamie grew up in Seattle Washington and she has been writing poetry for years. She believes that poetry is a tiny story about love, whether it's beautiful or painful; she has lived both. She has waited tables; roller skated around Texas (dressed as a pillow) delivering her own Pillowgrams and she worked as a radio DJ.
She moved to Spokane Washington to be near her daughter and granddaughter. Her true loves are writing and spending time with her granddaughter.
We hope you enjoy The Story of the Toothfairie. Look for other stories for children by Jamie Williams and her poetry publishing soon.
